In association with Glasgow PE department, GHC are hosting a handball tournament for 11 schools from around Glasgow on Tuesday 26 February 2008. Building on the success of the previous years' events, Chairman Andy Burns is hoping to get a junior team started. "It's very important, not just for handball in Glasgow, but for Scotland. There is good talent in Glasgow and GHC just need to tap into it and I'm sure we can add a sucessful youth element to the club". It has been an aim for GHC over the years to start a junior team but nothing has happened as of yet. Andy Burns would like to thank the club volunteers for helping out on Tuesday and also to Tryst's Mark McLoughlin for taking time off work and coming through from Cumbernauld to help. He would also like to thank Cameron "Halfcut" Arnott for designing the program for the day. Lets hope 2008 is as good as previous years. |
