Welcome To Glasgow Handball Club

The Glasgow Handball Club was founded in the September of 2000 by Alasdair "Baba" Anderson and Kepa Mendibil and was one of the founder teams of the new Scottish Handball League.
Glasgow HC started with a only a Men's team of 10 players. We have now grown to a Men's and Ladies section of over 30 players and will continue to grow. We currently train at Hutcheson Grammar School in the South Side of the city.
The remaining players from that first season is Andy Burns. Kepa Mendibil returned to the club for the 2010/11 season.
Glasgow HC is coached by Andy Burns, Danos Sagias and Fransisco Cuellar.
Our main sponsor is Home Bar, based in Glasgow Merchant City area.
2011 Update
Written by Andy Burns
Tuesday, 27 December 2011
Well Christmas is over and we're in the pre-New Year period where excessive behaviour and eating is still kinda ok.  I've been updating the website and realised it's been a wee while so a couple of match reports have been written and the leagues updated.

The last games in Tryst had mixed fortunes for the club as the ladies defeated Tryst 35-10, whereas later in the day the men lost to Tryst 35-26.

The ladies lose Margrethe Svenstrup for the rest of the season as she returns to Denmark for her studies and a new men's player Joao Cruz joins from Portugal to join the ranks.

Everyone is looking forward to the ABUHC run Student Championships held in Manchester on the weekend of 18/19 February 2012.  Click here for details.

Ladies Week 1 and Week 2 Update
Written by Andy Burns
Thursday, 03 November 2011
The SHA Ladies league started for 3 teams on 15 October 2011.  Unfortunately for EK82, due to injury and unavailability they have been unable to field teams for their first two games and have had to forfeit their games against Glasgow and Edinburgh 10-0.

Week 1 saw Edinburgh coming from behind to defeat Tryst in a thrilling match 36-32.  It was a great start to the season, however Tryst without their coach, could feel they had the win within their grasp with 6 minutes to go, but the depth of Edinburgh's much changed team saw them across the finishing line.

Week 2 was Glasgow v Tryst in Blackburn again on 24 October 2011.  Glasgow, like Edinburgh, have had to integrate several new players into the team, but started the game where we left off last season with a blistering 31-14 win.  Afterwards there was a Halloween party in Glasgow where most of the players unwound after the game.
